Are you finding that you really want to move forward but you are going backwards? Is your lack of progress confusing? Do you believe that you are doing all the right things but the results do not match up? What is true is that you are probably throwing up roadblocks or obstacles that hinder your progress. Most of the time these barriers are created from our subconscious minds. The first step to actually accomplishing your identified goals is to see that this is really what is in your way.
Our subconscious mind is a powerful instrument. The mind holds onto everything we have ever thought or experienced or come to believe. Ask yourself, what are you holding onto that is getting in the way of your success? What experiences is your subconscious mind holding onto that is not true? If you were told as a child that you were never going to amount to anything, do you think this embedded message might be getting in the way of your current success? Yes, of course it is!
You have spent a lifetime of gathering data that is stored in your subconscious. Most of the data is outdated and false. As you encounter failures, it is important to begin to understand that these failures might just be a reflection of old beliefs and possibly old messages. When your lack of results doesn’t make sense, begin to listen to what subtle, outdated messages might be in the way. Begin to challenge and move beyond the garbage.
For you to change your results and to overcome the obstacles, you will need to have awareness and to hold yourself accountable and responsible for your life. Just because you failed a test in high school does not make you “stupid.” All that really means, is you failed a test. Period! The failure is not a reflection or a truth about your intelligence. Is this making sense? What beliefs are you still holding onto or what messages are you still hearing?
Most of the time these messages get anchored because they come from a person who we viewed as an authority figure; such as, a parent, a teacher, a friend, a boss, etc. These negative messages have only served to make us anxious, less confident, distrusting of who we are, and fearful of moving forward. If you have negative people in your life it is time to begin to surround yourself with more positive and supportive people. If the negative people in your life are family members, recognize that their negativity does not have to continue impacting your life unless you allow that to happen.
Take time each day to see your life the way you want it to be by meditating, visualizing, talking and interacting with positive people who support your vision. Begin to set goals that are in alignment with your future. Take the necessary actions and celebrate your daily successes. The truth about success is that we are all successful in so many areas of our lives but we just do not celebrate enough to anchor this truth. We have a tendency to focus on what we failed at but not the areas where we succeeded.
When encountering roadblocks, challenge yourself to go around, through, over, or around instead of giving up and quitting. Always challenge the subconscious when it tells you that you are a failure, or that it is going to be too hard, or you are too old, or too lazy, or not smart enough. Again, these beliefs are not true of who you really are!
There is always someone available to help you break through the barriers in life. You do not always need to figure it out on your own. Find assistance until you have created a more solid, positive foundation.
