This section will be added to on a regular basis.  Please visit regularly.   When I was working with teens and families I asked them, at the end of the workshop, to sum up life in 8 condensed statements.  The following are from several years of doing these workshops.  I will indicate whether it was a teen or a parent who created the “booklet”.

  • Find humor in things and laugh at yourself
  • Don’t worry about things you can’t do anything about
  • Bring conversations with irrational people to a close quickly
  • Don’t take on new projects if you have 3 in process
  • Be patient, don’t jump to conclusions, give people a chance
  • If you don’t understand – ask
  • The way you behave has nothing to do with anyone else
  • Remember you are just visiting

  • Keep an open mind
  • Always wonder about things instead of knowing
  • Go after what you truly want – not what you think others want of you
  • Choose your profession because you love it!
  • Cherish relationships not what you possess – love heals (including the one with yourself)

  • Don’t give up – do the work
  • Learn to feel your feelings
